Atletico Madrid put Manchester United side defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka (24) on the recruitment list.

Britain’s ‘Sports Mall’ said on the 9th (Korea Standard Time), “Atletico Madrid is trying to recruit Wan-Bissaka through the transfer market this summer. It has been selected as a resource to replace Sime Brsalico (30). Brsalico’s contract with Atletico will expire at the end of this season, he said.

“Atletico’s chairman Andrea Bertha has already contacted Manchester United to ask for a transfer to Wan-Bissaka. Manchester United said they are willing to sell it, adding, “Eric Ten-Hach, who has been appointed as Manchester United’s new coach, has no intention of using Wan-Bissaka for the new season.” He added, “We’re going to sell it on full transfer terms after the loan.

Wan-Bissaka is a right-back who grew up with Crystal Palace youth. From 2016 to 2019, Crystal Palace firmly maintained the right side. He was also named Crystal Palace Player of the Year in the 2018–19 season. As soon as the season ended, he received a love call from Manchester United and changed into a red uniform.

Manchester United paid 45 million pounds (about 71 billion won) to recruit Wan-Bissaka. At that time, it was a shocking ransom enough to rank sixth in the transfer fee of defenders. It was also recorded as the most expensive deal among non-England players.

It was nicknamed ‘Spider’ in the UK. It meant that he would make sophisticated tackles with his long legs. But the performance at Manchester United was below expectations. He played 35 league games in the first season and 34 league games in the second season. However, he lost his position this season by playing only 20 games. He lost his position to Diogo Dalot under coach Ralph Langnik.
