Key to signing an extended contract with Boston Brown after the season
Boston Celtics, which failed to challenge the top, is looking forward to it.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Boston will prepare for an extension with Jaylen Brown (Guard-Forward, 198 cm, 101 kg).
Brown has improved this season as well. He was named the All-NBA team for the second time since 2021, as well as the first All-Star team in his life. He was on the All-NBA Second Team and proved what kind of player he was. As a result, it is possible to sign a contract above the highest treatment, which accounts for up to 35% of the salary cap.
It is questionable what size of contract Boston will sign with Brown, but at least the highest treatment is expected to be fully considered. Although he slowed down in this Eastern Conference Final, Boston could challenge for the top this season, and Brown’s contribution was by far greater. If Boston also wants to maintain a one-two punch, it is natural to sign a contract with Brown.
However, as Boston has shown its limitations with its power centered on Jason Tatum and Brown, it is expected to consider an extension contract. If Boston signs an extension, it should at least get the best deal. Otherwise, the possibility of Brown refusing cannot be ruled out. As spending increases with this extended contract, you have to make a difficult choice.
Brown signed an extension early in the 2019-2020 season ahead of the rookie contract expiration. At that time, Boston decided to join Brown on a four-year, $107 million contract. Along with Tatum, it has become the core of Boston Power. Brown also did his part by winning contracts worth more than $25 million a year, and has improved year by year.
This season, he has been a regular in all 67 games. He played 35.9 minutes per game, recording 26.6 points (.491.335.765) 6.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals. He scored the most points on average since entering the NBA, and surpassed the 25-point mark for the first time in his life. It has been reborn as the basis of its power, with an average of more than 20 points for four consecutive seasons.
Being able to cross positions is also his strength. Brown went back and forth between shooting guard and small forward as a swingman. Just as Tatum goes back and forth between both forward positions, Brown can play both positions, allowing Boston to set up a colorful lineup. As a result, Boston was able to put Marcus Smart, Derek White, and Malcolm Brockdon on the list 토토 언더오버
Meanwhile, if an extension contract is not signed, the Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers are expected to be interested in Brown. Houston has a number of promising players, securing trade guards. Portland holds the third pick in the first round in the 2023 draft. It is worthwhile to join the trade by combining the existing power and nomination rights
