BTS X Big Hit donated 5.9 billion won to UNICEF for five years
The group BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) donated a total of 5.9 billion won over five years along with its agency Big Hit Music.
The UNICEF Korean Committee presented a commemorative video of BTS on November 29 to mark the fifth anniversary of the “LOVE MYSELF” campaign with BTS and UNICEF.
The video, in which all the members appeared, showed BTS’s thoughts and gratitude for fans who have been running the “LOVE MYSELF” campaign for the past five years.
“I think the Love Myself campaign has permeated our daily lives little by little like background music over the past five years,” BTS said. “I’m happy and proud that many people think of Love Myself in their daily lives.” But I think there are people all over the world who don’t know how to love themselves yet.
“It’s almost the end of the year. I hope you will look back and wrap up meaningfully this year to see if you have loved yourself enough and shared your warmth around you, he said. “As we celebrate the fifth anniversary of this campaign, I hope we will make our own commitment to ‘Love Myself’ again.”
Finally, he added, “I believe that the campaign, which has been with UNICEF for five years, will continue to be with us so that we can create positive energy in the daily lives of more people.”
Videos containing messages from BTS members can be found on UNICEF’s official YouTube channel.
The “LOVE MYSELF” campaign began in November 2017 with the signing of a social contribution agreement between UNICEF Korea Committee and BTS agency Big Hit Music. It has supported UNICEF’s campaign to eradicate violence against children and adolescents and has supported the recovery and prevention of violence among children and adolescents around the world.
According to UNICEF’s official announcement, since 2017, BTS and Big Hit Music have donated a total of 5.9 billion won (as of October 2022) to the UNICEF Korean Committee through the “LOVE MYSELF” campaign, including profits from “LOVE MYSELF” products and albums.
BTS conveyed a message of hope and courage to children and teenagers around the world, informing them of the value of loving them at various events, including concerts, interviews, and talk shows, as well as speeches at the 2018 and 2020 UN General Assembly. 메이저사이트
Lee Ki-chul, secretary-general of the UNICEF Korean Committee, said, “Korea has made two major achievements over the past 60 years. The first is democracy and economic development, he said. “The second is that BTS’s global influence is amazing enough to hear from a diplomat who said the birth of BTS.” He said, “I hope that the good influence of BTS will continue to expand in the future.”
